Ag Day Highlights Key Issues for Local Farmers

Local business leaders explored McLean County farming and agribusiness during Agriculture Day held Oct. 5 for a group of 30 local business leaders. Rural Route Safety Days

Checking out the visibility from a tractor or combine seat proved to be an eye-opening experience for local high school students at Rural Route Safety Days held at LeRoy High School Aug. 28 and Lexington High School Sept. 8. Lexington FFA receives a $15,000 Capital Grant from McLean County Farm Bureau to purchase new welding equipment.

MCFB Awards $30,000 in FFA Capital Grants

McLean County Farm Bureau is investing $30,000 in local agricultural education efforts through the FFA Capital Grant program to help grow capacity for hands on learning. The 2023 Golden Clover awards honored three dedicated McLean County Fair and 4-H volunteers. HogWild 5K Raise Funds for Foundation

About 100 runners and walkers participated in the 2023 HogWild 5K Run & 2K Walk held July 23 at the McLean County Fairgrounds. Participants also enjoyed post-race porkburgers grilled by McLean County Pork Producers. Steven Immen of Towanda completed the course in the fastest time and won the men’s division. Emily Farchmin of Imperial,Mo. placed first in the women’s division. The top three finishers in each age group for the mens’ and womens’ divisions received
