The Farm Bill took center stage in discussions on the recent Illinois Farm Bureau Leaders to Washington trip held July 11-13.

McLean County Farm Bureau advisory board member, Eric Kaufman, traveled to the nation’s capital along with eight other Illinois farmers to share his perspective and advocate for agriculture.

Kaufman met with Congressman Eric Sorensen, D-17, as well as U.S. Sens. Tammy Duckworth, D-Hoffman Estates, and Dick Durbin, D-Springfield and other elected officials.

The group also met with American Farm Bureau Federation staff and visited with policymakers at USDA and EPA.

Illinois Farm Bureau coordinates the Leaders to DC trip for farmer members to meet directly with legislators and regulators to discuss key policy issues.
