Commodity groups: Expand ag safety net in 2023 farm bill

Commodity group leaders united around a few central messages related to the farm bill, encouraging policymakers to expand the ag safety net. “It is difficult to envision a scenario that would provide meaningful assistance without significant improvements to the current reference price and program elements of ARC and PLC,” said American Soybean Association President Daryl Cates during Wednesday’s House Ag hearing.
