If the mild winter weather hangs on until spring, farmers could have the chance to plant early.

Randy Niver, DEKALB/Asgrow technical agronomist, outlined what farmers should consider before doing so. “Any kind of stress we add to the plant early in the season, either if it’s cool and wet or we have compaction from planting when it’s a little too wet, can cause major issues later in the season.”
