Input prices, environmental regulations and trade served as the key focus on the recent Illinois Farm Bureau Leaders to Washington trip held March 7-9.
McLean County Farm Bureau board member, David Schuler, traveled to the nation’s capital along with eight other Illinois farmers to share his perspective and advocate for agriculture.
Schuler met with Congressman Darin LaHood, R-Dunlap, as well as U.S. Sens. Tammy Duckworth, D-Hoffman Estates, and Dick Durbin, D-Springfield and other elected officials.
The group also met with American Farm Bureau Federation staff and visited with policymakers at USDA and EPA.
Illinois Farm Bureau coordinates the Leaders to DC trip for farmer members to meet directly with legislators and regulators to discuss key policy issues.
