The Renewable Fuel Standard, dicamba regulations and trade served as key discussion topics during the recent Illinois Farm Bureau Leaders to Washington trip held March 10-12.
McLean County Farm Bureau board member, Carly Rickard, traveled to the nation’s capital March 10-12 along with 16 other Illinois farmers.
Rickard met with Congressman Darin LaHood, as well as U.S. Sens. Tammy Duckworth, and Dick Durbin.
The group also visited with officials at the USDA including Gregg Doud, chief ag negotiator on the Phase I trade deal with China. Additional stops included the EPA and the French Embassy.
Illinois Farm Bureau offers the Leaders to Washington trip for farmer members twice a year.
